Call for Papers for Hydro12 - deadline extended

The Organising Committee of Hydro12 has announced an extension to the deadline for submission of abstracts until 15th March 2012.
Hydro12 will take place onboard the luxurious steamship SS Rotterdam moored on the South Bank of the Port Rotterdam, from 13-15th November 2012.
Depending on the author's own preference and the decisions of the 'Contents Team of Hydro12', papers will either be presented orally or as a poster.
Papers are requested on the conference theme of 'Taking care of the sea' - a detailed description of the theme can be found at http://hydro12.com/?page_id=7.
Paper should address at least one of the following list of topics:
- Innovations in acquisition techniques e.g. sonar, LiDAR, satellite imagery, satellite positioning
- Subsea positioning e.g. integrated navigation, multi-sensor fusion, ROV positioning, IRM surveying
- Innovations in processing techniques e.g. object detection, large data volumes, 3D methods
- Smart data management e.g. MSDI, INSPIRE, indicators for data quality
- Easy customer access to data and products e.g. web services, ENCs
- Careful marine planning e.g. wind farms, dredging, traffic separation, resurvey policies
- Cost-effective solutions e.g. international cooperation, insourcing vs. outsourcing, autonomous surveying
- Geophysics of the marine environment e.g. morphodynamics, mapping of the seabed, exploitation of natural resources
- Vertical references e.g. ellipsoidally referenced surveying, internationally consistent definitions and realisations
- Accurate hydrodynamics e.g. water levels and tides, currents, oceanographic forecasting
- Hydrography in the Benelux e.g. Maasvlakte 2, the Sand Engine, optimal access to Antwerp
- The hydrographic profession e.g. attraction to young people, education, professional standards, Hydrographic Societies
Abstracts should be submitted either using the form on the Hydro12 website or an email to submissions@hydro12.com, attaching the abstract as an MS Word file.
