Shallow Survey 2018: Call for abstracts *Extended*

23 April 2018

** Deadline now extended to 15th June 2018 **

Shallow Survey 2018, the 8th international conference on high resolution surveys in shallow water which takes place at the Delta Hotel in St John's, Newfoundland, Canada from 1st-3rd October, is now accepting abstracts.

The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland and the Canadian Hydrographic Service invites interested parties to submit proposals for presentations on high resolution surveys in shallow water.

All abstracts must be submitted by e-mail to no later than 15th May 2018. Notification of decisions on submitted abstracts will be issued on 15th June.

In keeping with the broad scope of promoting progress in seabed mapping in the coastal environment, the organising committee encourages abstracts from a wide swath of approaches to shallow water hydrography (ranging from multibeam, to swath(e), to LiDAR, to satellites, AUVs, ASVs and UAVs, advanced data processing, fusion and visualisation techniques) highlighting practical developments in these technologies, as well as advancements in understanding of the seabed gained as a result.

The conference organisers would like to showcase how technologies being developed to address current and future hydrographic requirements are enabling the hydrographic community to ask questions and set standards that were previously not practical to consider.

Abstract submissions should include:
