Boskalis Westminster Ltd are looking to recruit a Trainee/Junior Hydrographic Surveyor (subject to experience) to join our Survey team to assist with the Bathymetric and Topographic surveys required to support our Dredging operations.

The types of projects the company undertake are:-
  • Capital dredging projects for channel and berth deepening
  • Maintenance dredging projects
  • Beach Replenishment
  • Rock Groyne and revetment construction
  • Land reclamation projects
  • Cable laying and trenching

Job Description:

The Trainee/Junior surveyor would initially be expected to work on site under the supervision of a senior surveyor.

After completing an initial probationary period, training will be provided on our QA system, in house software, Qinsy, land survey, GNSS systems, use of survey drones etc.

Initial duties would include the following:

  • Acquisition of hydrographic survey data from Multibeam and Singlebeam systems
  • Acquisition of Topographic data for beach replenishment and reclamation projects
  • Processing of the above data using Qinsy and our in-house software
  • QC of data
  • Reporting using our QA system

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Recognised degree in hydrographic surveying / oceanography (preferably CAT A accredited)
  • The great majority of our work is site based and therefore the candidate must be willing to work away from home for periods up to 4 weeks
  • A full clean driving licence
