Shallow Survey 2015 call for papers extended

13 May 2015

The deadline for abstracts for papers at the Shallow Survey 2015 Conference has been extended to 1 June.

There has already been an excellent response to the initial call for papers, but a number of respected authors have requested an extension in order to finalise their submissions, and the Organising Committee is pleased to offer this additional opportunity to all who may still be considering putting forward their ideas.

Conference papers will cover subjects relevant to hydrographic surveying in shallow water.  The Common Dataset (CDS), for which seven different sonar systems collected data last year in Plymouth Sound and Wembury Bay, is available for analysis and comparison of techniques and outputs.  Papers may also look at other developments and issues encountered in industry or academia relating to the conference theme.

Conference paper abstracts should be submitted through the Shallow Survey website. Notification of decisions on the abstracts submitted will now be issued on 15 June.

Copies of the Common Dataset are still available from the website at a cost of £85.

The 7th International Conference on High Resolution Surveys in Shallow Water is being organised by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency in partnership with Plymouth University, and will take place on the University Campus from 14-18th September.
